But I can say that I absolutely had a light-switch moment, and that's exactly how I describe it when i talk about my journey. It's a bit different due the high level of abstraction in both the hardware and software that has grown exponentially since the 80s. I never had access to a *nix terminal until about a year after I fell in love with cyber. But I *did* have access to the explorer developer tools. And funny enough, I discovered the dev tools *because* I procrastinating from my online school work. I very much resonated with the manifesto, on every level. And here I am, a decade later, constantly in my home lab, learning about ICS and SCADA, experimenting with SIEM/SOAR, doing things my younger self would be amazed at. Thanks to this man, I felt a little bit better understood as a young aspiring hacker.

Some platforms like power 9 have longer cache lines and combine the ECC bits for the whole cacheline to allow more powerful ECC... but this also means that there is extra bits that could be used for tags.. so the tags could be made essentially free.
